Kozhikode: The Association of Advanced Specialty Healthcare Institutions has urged the State government to implement health tourism projects and programmes with the participation of hospitals, insurance companies and resorts in the State.

The association has also asked the government to constitute a coordination committee under the Department of Health and Family Welfare and Department of Tourism.

Healthcare had infinite potential in the State.

However, for the successful implementation of programmes participation of various sectors involved in healthcare was necessary, association president M.I. Shahadulla said.

The government and the private sector should join hands to frame healthcare policies as the State had became a healthcare destination.
